ABOUT

Lorena Sandoval

Lorena Sandoval is a scenic designer and visual artist working between Canada and the United States. She received her MFA in Scenic Design from The Pennsylvania State University in 2024 and her BFA in Sculpture from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru in 2004.

Drawing on her foundation as a sculptor, Lorena has built a career as a scenic props builder, working on numerous projects for various companies in theatre, film, and the broader entertainment industry.

As a scenic designer, Lorena has crafted a design process centered on creating integrated spaces within the storytelling. She loves exploring and proposing other types of readings that not faithfully imitate reality but rather rearranges and reinterprets it to expand perception through our senses.

Production credits at Penn State Centre Stage include Tartuffe, directed by Sam Osheroff, and Emilia, directed by Jenny Lamb.
